Another Week, Another Nun....

9/26/2011

This girl is so committed to the show she even came to rehearsals on her birthday!

Jen first joined Croydon Parish Players in 1999 when she was in Brigadoon and since then she has been part of many shows, her most recent being Seussical where she played an Ostrich.

Jen loves the warm and friendly atmosphere of CPP, and is also enjoying being “back in the habit” – the last time Jen played the role of a Nun was back in high school. We’re actually quite lucky Jen is able to be part of the show as initially she was planning to go a wedding in October – good to see that The Sound of Music (one of her favourite musicals) won out! The Sound of Music also has extra special meaning for Jen as she finds herself reliving the memories of The Sound of Music tour she went on while she was traveling around Austria.

Jen is also enjoying the challenge of learning to sing in Latin, although she is a little envious of the great songs that other cast members get to sing too!

Come and see Jen “back in the habit” – book your tickets today!

No, the words are not “Jelly Bran Tess”....

9/19/2011

Jacqui returns to the Croydon Parish Players stage after a 3 year absence – this is her first show since Pirates in 2007. But it’s not like Jacqui hasn’t been busy for the last 3 years – she has been spent this time raising her 3 beautiful children – Patrick, Charlotte & Addison.

The Sound of Music is her favourite musical of all and she wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to be part of it for the world! She loves the diversity of her role as a “Party / Nun”- that she can be sombre in one scene, waltz in another and celebrate in the next.

One of Jacqui's Favourite Things is practising her singing at home with her son Patrick – in latin mind you! – she’s just got to get Patrick used to the idea that the Latin words the nuns sing are not actually  “Jelly Bran Tess” !! (Although that might sound close!)

If you want to see Jacqui “strut her stuff” in October be sure to book your ticket ASAP – they are selling fast!
