And here is George Gently.....

9/25/2012

Glenn O has been around Croydon Parish Players for a few years now, his first show being Lil Abner in 2005 where he played Pappy Yokum and he just keeps on coming back for more! He likes the friendship and camaraderie that CPP provides.

As for HMS Pinafore Glenn is really enjoying having fun and trying to learn all the songs, even though it's a bit of a challenge with all the different harmonies.

So as you know each cast member has a back story.... so what is George Gently's? Well Glenn informs me that George has been on the HMS Pinafore for years and is a more senior member of the crew... He had a brief dalliance 'a many years ago' and as a result has a daughter called Daffodil, whose mother left her in his care! So you could say he's ahead of his time!

Come and see all of Glenn's hard work pay off - the show opens in just over a week's time. If you haven't already, book your tickets here today! You won't want to miss out!

Meet Condeleeza (or should it be Condasailor....??)

9/24/2012

Helen T has been with the group for many years having been introduced to Croydon Parish Players a many years ago through the Lancaster's back when she was in Year 11, before this however she used to come and watch a lot of our shows.

Helen loves the friendship and community feel of CPP along with the loud laughs we have along the way. As for this season of HMS Pinafore she is really enjoying the challenge of singing 4 part harmonies in the chorus as well as the family feel - after all her husband and son are in the show as well as her brother!

As an exercise in character development, the director asked all chorus members to come up with a name for their character and their back story. So what did Helen come up with as Condeleeza's story? Well she is a sister to Sir Joseph (not a cousin, or an aunt) and she LOVES to flirt. Condeleeza has never had a long standing relationship as that would take the fun out of flirting.... with lots of other men! So is quite happy to travel with Sir Joseph from ship to ship and flirt to her hearts content!

Have you got your tickets yet? If not go to our home page now and click on the "Buy it Now" button to organise yours today. You'll love seeing Condeleeza in action!
